Welcome to the June installment of my blogger of the month series. Each month I will be recognizing and featuring someone who I believe to be a true talent in the beauty blogging world. For this monthly feature I have included an interview as well as a gallery of their best work. And, as a special treat, I have commissioned an exclusive look for the monthly 'Pigments & Palettes Challenge'. The next blogger I've decided to feature is:

I admire lots of different bloggers and makeup artists for lots of different reasons. I am a huge fan of Rachel's because of her incredibly unique style and designs. Every single one of her looks is something I can confidently say I've never seen anyone do before. I first found her work on Makeupbee and I've been anxiously awaiting every single one of her looks ever since. I've yet to be anything less than dumbstruck by the work she produces. Click the cut to see even more of her insane talent and crazy creativity.

Here is the prickly palette that I gave to Rachel and this is the beautiful look she came up with!

June Palette Challenge: Succulent Color c/o

What do you like the most and the least about being a beauty blogger?
I love the support I receive off people from all different areas of the world! The feedback you guys provide me, whether it’s positive or not, gives me the drive and motivation to want to think even further outside the square! I appreciate every single one of you guys for that! :) Least would be when I’m stuck in a rut and can’t think or decide on what look I should do next, and I know we’ve all been there before :P

What are the three most important things for people to know about you?

1.     My beliefs are important to me, I really don’t like it when people try to discourage me and stop me from doing what I believe in.

2.     I don’t regret anything. I use those situations as life lessons. If I do something stupid then I’ll know not to do it again.

3.     I’m extremely shy when I meet someone for the first time, I think because I’m scared of being judged and sometimes it comes across as being rude, but honestly once I get to know someone I’m quite outgoing! :)

What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?
I’m allergic to dairy, gluten and I’m a vegetarian. This is generally followed by the question “what do you even eat?!” hahaha I just say air.

Describe your beauty philosophy in a six word sentence.
Don’t be scared, try it again.

What would you say is most unique/different about your blog & looks?
I think of my face as a canvas, as do a lot of other makeup artists, so I’m not scared to go beyond the ‘norm’. I try to put a lot of detail and colour into my looks and think of them as mini artworks. It’s always a great feeling when I have people comment on my looks and tell me they never even imagined makeup could be used in that way, that I’ve changed their whole perspective on the definition of ‘makeup’ :)

If you could design a makeup look for anyone in the world, who would it be and why?
Eventually I would love to work in the film industry and I think teaming up with someone like Tim Burton would be amazing. His movies, themes and artwork are so kooky and right down my alley!!

What's your biggest personal success so far (blogging or otherwise)?
My biggest personal success so far was saving up my pennies nonstop for a year and moving from Australia to Canada at the beginning of April, all by myself at the age of 20 :) So far I’ve found a fantastic apartment, have 2 jobs and made some amazing friends in the space of a month! :D (Welcome to Canada, Rachel!! - Meredith)

What are some of your favorite blogs to read or be inspired by?
I have to say Rose Shock because if I hadn’t found her blog, I wouldn’t have discovered Makeupbee or started blogging and sharing my work. The confidence she has to wear her looks proudly and not succumb to other people’s opinions gave me the confidence and ability to wear my makeup how I want, for whatever reasons are my own and why I will not change that for anyone. Honestly I could list a thousand people who inspire me every single day, and I thank you all and hope I’m doing the same in return! :)

What was the first look you ever posted and what do you think of it now?
Haha the first look I ever posted was actually Special Effects makeup. It was the final piece for my Cinemagraphic Makeup course I took back in 2010. We were given 3 hours to do any kind of makeup we wanted (most people chose glamour) but I must say I have a weakness for prosthetics and love anything gory.. so I created a spine popping out of someone’s back with hands emerging further down.. heh heh heh.. lots of blood.

What’s the one look you like the most or are the most proud of and why?
It always changes haha, one week I’ll be most proud of one look and then the next it will be in my dislike pile. But if I was to choose one look it would probably be ‘Nice Shooting Sweetheart!’. It was one of those looks that I got halfway through and was so close to wiping it off because I felt it wasn’t going right, but I persisted and it came out better than I had originally planned it :) It taught me to give things a chance, and see it through to the end because makeup is unpredictable!

If you could only take one kind of makeup to a desert island, what would it be? - Karolina, May
Eyes are extremely important to me when it comes to makeup (if you can’t tell most of my looks are eyes haha) and I think when they are emphasized in a certain way can bring a new perspective to a person. So in saying that I would probably take mascara just to give my eyes a pop so I can still feel purdy when I’m looking for water ;)

I want to thank Rachel for participating this month. Please go check out her blog, you won't regret it! She just started a blogger account and needs to boost that follower count!!
