March Blogger of the Month - Toria

1 comment:

Welcome to the February installment of my blogger of the month series. Each month I will be recognizing and featuring someone who I believe to be a true talent in the beauty blogging world. For this monthly feature I have included an interview as well as a gallery of their best work. And, as a special treat, I have commissioned an exclusive look for the monthly 'Pigments & Palettes Challenge'. The next blogger I've decided to feature is:

THE INTERVIEW
Getting to Know You: The Beauty Behind the Blog

What does your blog name mean, and how did you come up with it?

My blog name is pretty straight forward, it’s simply a combination of three of my favorite things: Music, Makeup and Spider-Man. [:

What do you like the most and the least about being a beauty blogger?

When it comes to beauty blogging, I love being able to post my looks out in the open and receiving feedback on them. I also really enjoy when someone buys a product that I have recommended. It makes me feel special. [; What I like the least? Hmm. Probably when I fall behind and temporarily abandon my job due to college work piling up or the little one being ill. There aren’t many things to dislike about being able to write what you think about a bunch of things that you love. ;]

What are the three most important things for people to know about you?
1.   I am so dryly sarcastic—both in writing and in person—that I sometimes come across as hateful and I’m NOT! I’m easily one of the most whole hearted, genuine people that you will meet; I just joke a bunch!

2.
I’ve never been paid to do my reviews or anything of the sort. Most of the products I review are affordable because I buy them all myself when I happen to have extra money, which is rare. ;]
3. I am extremely anti-discrimination. I am the first person you will see jump to defend someone being bullied. I will not tolerate it in any aspect of my life and I will always do my best to protect those I see preyed on. Whether they be my best friend, worst enemy, an acquaintance, or nemesis; I will stand up for and defend them in any form I can.

What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?

Most people would be surprised to learn that I’m a huuuuuge Mommy’s girl! My mother and I have an amazing relationship and I still curl up next to her when I'm sick or feel lonely. >.<

Describe your beauty philosophy in a six word sentence
Creativity is often mistaken for madness. ;]

What would you say you're most known for in the beauty blogging world?

I’m not very well known in the beauty blogging world. Haha. I’m pretty “under the radar” around here. :P

If you could design a makeup look for anyone, who would it be and why?

If I could design a makeup look for anyone, it would be the music artist Pink. She has such a gorgeous bone structure and flawless features. I feel like our styles mesh a little bit and I could really create something that she would love. Not to mention, I would LOVE to meet her!

What's your biggest personal success so far (blogging or otherwise)?

I would say that my greatest personal success would be raising a happy, healthy, beautiful and polite baby girl while still staying in college and working. :] It makes me thrilled to know that I am successfully completing all three of those tasks at the same time while still being able to see her all the time.

What was the first look you ever posted and what do you think of it now?

Oh, gosh. My first look I ever posted was most likely one of my green smokey eyes. It was.. less than perfect! Haha. Not to mention, my crazy eyebrows and horrible camera quality.

What's one question you want to ask to next month's Blogger of the Month?

If you never became interested in makeup, what hobby would have replaced it?

What have you learned about yourself recently? - Natalie, February

I’ve learned that I am capable of more than I ever dreamed of and that the life I once wished I had is nothing compared to how amazing my life has become.
FIVE FAST FAVORITES
ONE: Favorite beauty blog/website?

There’s no way that I can only pick one favorite blog. I love Pigments and Palettes(of course!), Bows N’ Curtseys, RoseShock, Xsparkage and Monroe Misfits Makeup.
TWO: What is your favorite kind of inspiration?

My favorite inspiration is the kind that is both artistic an emotional.
THREE: Favorite thing in your makeup kit
Yikes. I would have to say my foundation! Acne coverage!

FOUR: Favorite look that you've ever done?

I’m not sure. Either my “A Clockwork Orange” or “So sloppy, so neat” look.

FIVE: Favorite song to dance to when nobody's watching?

Oh, man. It’s a tie between “In Too Deep” by Sum41 and “You Make My Dreams Come True” by Hall & Oates.
